KAFM has grown and prospered beyond the wildest dreams of those early dedicated citizens who had a vision of a real community station for the Grand Valley.
With strong leadership, broad-based community support, and an entrepreneurial spirit, the station has purchased it’s own facility, as well as adjacent properties, created a solar array that generates enough electricity to power its broadcast and Radio Room operations, and made a real di fference in the lives of the residents of the Grand Valley. Additionally, the station’s website streams our signal 24/7 so that people all over the world can -– and do –- listen in to the voice of the Grand Valley.
Through good times and bad, the station’s steady progress is a testament to the value and community support of its mission and the vision of those fi rst dedicated citizens who paved the way for so many who would come after them and carry the dream forward.

KAFM is a responsive and responsible volunteer-oriented organization dedicated to diversity and excellence in its programming and providing an outlet for the creative skills and energies of the community. KAFM’s purpose is to share music, culture and information in order to facilitate increased communication and foster healthy communities.
